| Scenario
With a great deal of media attention focused on the rise in companies delisting from AIM (the UK’s junior stock market) we decided that research into the reasons behind the rise would be a great opportunity for one of our clients, a leading professional services firm, to raise its profile in the corporate finance community by providing informed comment on the AIM market.
Strategy
- We gathered the data from the LSE and analysed reasons given by companies for delisting
- The research revealed that while financial stress and insolvency were inevitably on the rise due to the economic crisis, AIM’s regulatory burdens were increasingly cited as a reason for delisting
- Our professional services firm client was able to comment on both the current economic climate and the issues surrounding AIM
